John Jacobs
My name is John Jacobs.
I am a medical data scientist combining biomedical science, data science and ICT.
I am a recognized immunologist with a broad experience in biomedical research. General details can be found in my resume or in the list of my scientific publications. I obtained my PhD in contact dermatitis. My main interest is tumour immunology. I am an active member of several scientific societies.
I have a broad background in scientific research, both in theory, planning and experimental practice, in the fields of tumour immunology, general immunology, vaccine research, virology, microbiology, molecular biology, protein chemistry, biochemistry, cell culture, laboratory animal experiments.
I also have experiences in leading people and teams, guidance of clinical studies in human and veterinary patients, writing ethical requests for human and laboratory animal research, writing scientific papers, writing popular scientific papers.
Other skills include broad knowledge in exact science (maths, physics, chemistry, biology), didactical skills, remedial teaching, presentations for various audiences, extended knowledge of computer programms, databases, data analysis, biostatistics, theology.
More recently have expanded my knowledge to ICT. From a general background in programming, I have gained in depth knowledge of SAP retail implementation as a project leader, and have broad and in depth general computer skills.
Additionally, I have background in theology, and I am interested in regulation, politics and ethics. I am involved in future-proof Biotechnology of the Dutch government, Societal questions of the Dutch council of churches and the Task Group Science and Christian Ethics of the Council of European Churches.
