Herd Immunity Re-Revisited

Nederlands
Some European countries, inexperienced in controlling epidemics, try to reach herd immunity for the third time. The Netherlands and the UK already failed twice and are still ignoring scientific consensus. This sharply contrast the general antivirus-epidemic strategy that is recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO is experienced in fighting epidemics.

The editor in chief of a major medical journal states boldly: “This is not about data; this is about ideology.” Concerning this ideology, the practice is not compliant to international obligations to protect human rights[7] and human dignity.

I’ll visit the topics one by one.

  1. About herd immunity.
  2. Three failed attempts.
  3. Calculate the costs.
  4. Incomplete immunity.
  5. What could possibly go wrong?
  6. What can be do?
  7. In brief!
